Summary:
For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. (1 Corinthians 14:14-15)

“For
forty-three years, forty-three years this month, July, I think it was
the 24th or thereabouts of 1970, since I was baptized in the Holy Spirit
and started speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gave me utterance.
I’d never heard of this gift, the gift is the Holy Ghost and the tongues
are a manifestation of the gift, amen and I started speaking at
midnight; amazing, sitting in my bed in Murfreesboro, Tennessee; amen,
what a blessing it was. I was sitting there in bed and asked Patti, (who
is now in heaven) which I almost would never do, if she would get me a
glass of water and she did and she didn’t mind and while she was out of
my sight a plastic meter board, three inches or so wide and six to eight
inches long, probably eight, floated just in front of my eyes and I
jerked my head back and I was setting up in bed; and I jerked my head
back and I started speaking in tongues; out of my belly flow rivers of
living waters. I was shocked, I was literally shocked, I did not believe
that any person could speak a language that they had not previously
learned, but there I was speaking. Patti returned and I said I don’t
think I need that water, I’ve got something in me and what it was, was
living water, amen. “
